Marmaris is a complete holiday destination, offering something for everyone. Whether your idea of the perfect break involves relaxing on the beach, sipping cocktails at your All Inclusive hotel or going in search of an adventure, this stunning spot on the Turkish Riviera is sure to be right up your street.

With the glistening Mediterranean looking so appealing from the shore, it's hardly surprising that Marmaris is a favourite among sailors. You don't have to be a hardy sailor yourself to get out on a boat, though. There are plenty of deals to be found in the marina, with boat owners offering tours of the bay. Explore ancient ruins and caves, or just take a trip to a peaceful neighbouring beach.

If you don't fancy a day out on the water, how about spending a day underneath it? The clear waters and abundance of sea life make Marmaris a great place to learn how to dive. Source a cheap beginner's deal at any one of the local dive schools. If you've done it before, you might be able to hire some gear and organise your own trip.

When you're planning the itinerary for your holidays, it's easy to over-complicate things. But when the weather's as good as it is is Marmaris, sometimes the best thing to do is simply put your feet up and enjoy the glorious beaches. Some hotels have private beaches and tthers have their own sun beds, meaning you're sure to find a spot of your own, even in the height of summer.

Marmaris is best for

Diving – With crystal clear waters and tons of awesome wildlife, Marmaris is a paradise for divers. There are plenty of dive schools for beginners and hire centres for seasoned pros.

Sailing – Also making the most of the calm sea, sailing's a favourite activity in Marmaris. Play around with a dinghy in the bay, or just lounge with a cocktail on a powerboat in the upmarket marina.

Families – Marmaris is an incredibly welcoming resort, which makes it a great place to visit with the kids. Most importantly, protected beaches mean parents can kick back, worry free!
