Costa Teguise is home to five sandy beaches. Las Cucharas is one of the most popular beaches and attracts wind and kite surfers from across the globe. Bastian beach is a great pick for families for its sheltered sands and calm waters. El Jabillo is blessed with fine white sand. Los Charcos can get windy which means you can often find a quiet patch of sand to relax on. Playa Ancia is a little off the beaten track but is the locals' favourite.

Take a family boat trip to Lobos Island to explore the nature reserve or climb Cauldron Mountain.

Best time to visit: Costa Teguise hardly sees any rainfall making it the ideal year round destination. In the peak summer time in June and July temperatures can reach 30°C but remain pleasant all year round. The sea temperature also stays warm throughout the year.
By Train: There's no rail network on Lanzarote.
By Taxi: Taxis are easy to find in Costa Teguise and are generally cheap. It's always good to ask for the price first to avoid drivers from overcharging you. Most drivers speak English.
By Boat: Ferries are available from Spain (Cadiz and Huelva) or Portugal (Portimao) to the island's capital, Arrecife, around 15km from Costa Teguise.
By Hire Car: Hire cars can be booked in advance or when you arrive.
By Bus: Travel by bus for a cheap way to travel around Lanzarote. There's no direct service from Lanzarote Airport to Costa Teguise but there’s a route to Arrecife where you can connect to a local service to the resort.
For music fans - Arrecife en Vivo is a month long live music festival in September that brings music to the capital's streets, squares and gardens.
For something traditional - A lively carnival takes place every February in towns throughout Lanzarote. This colourful event features street parades, live music, dance performances and local food and drink. In Costa Teguise, you'll see the Parranda de los Diabletes (locals in traditional devil costumes) all over the streets.
For something spiritual - In the third week of August you'll find people across the island celebrating Dia de San Gines, the day of Lanzarote's patron saint. You can enjoy a firework display and funfair in nearby Arrecife.
