Guardalavaca is far more than a resort town, and this tropical beach has so much to offer each and every person. The area will make a comfortable and relaxing base for you if you want to explore further into Cuba. With history, a rich culture and varied scenery, the Holguin province has plenty of exciting things to see and beach holidays in Guardalavaca give you the chance to do everything.

Cuba has a fascinating culture and history, which it wears on its sleeve. From the Columbus statue on the beach and the winding streets of Holguin to the plantations and small fishing villages, this area will capture your imagination if you’re interested in history and tradition. Tours are easily arranged to take you to nearby historical places or deeper into the island.

The sea off Guardalavaca is so clear and blue that it’s always tempting to jump right in. And with tons of water sports and activities available in the area, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t! Try snorkelling or sailing or hop on a boat tour along the coast or into deeper waters for fishing for an exciting way to spend a day.

The seas off Cuba’s northern coastline are rich with many species and it’s not just sport fishing that makes the most of them. Guardalavaca has a good range of restaurants and bars offering freshly caught seafood and lobster, all served with typical Cuban sides. Cheap and delicious, it’s hard to find seafood this good value outside Cuba and there are many more child friendly dishes for the small ones who might not manage a whole fish on their plate. Cuba is also famous for its rum and no holiday would be complete without at least a small sample. With exotic fruits, vegetables and plenty of coconuts, food here is an experience.
