Looking for a fun beach holiday? Why not try something different in 2017? To help you decide, here are my five favourite holiday destinations for a getaway next summer.

Kololi, The Gambia – Average highs of 30˚C in summer

Sun, sea, sand and adventure await you in the popular hotspot of Kololi in The Gambia. This sizzling beach resort has something for everyone to enjoy. Spend the morning chilling out on the beach and in the afternoon, take an exciting trip to the Bijilo Forest Park. Get your camera ready and spot the exotic birds, monkeys, crocs and hippos. It’s a great day out and you may even snap a funny selfie with the animals to share on Facebook!

Cayo Coco, Cuba – Average highs of 27˚C in summer

Enjoy the Caribbean sunshine with a holiday to Cayo Coco in Cuba. It’s got great year round sunshine and average highs of 27˚C in summer. On the beachfront, there are loads of fun things to do like horse riding, boat tours, snorkelling and water sports. If you visit in June you can get your boogie on at the Jardines del Rey Jazz Festival and dance with the locals. Best of all, Cayo Coco is linked to the mainland of Cuba so the entire island is there for you to explore.

Candolim, Goa – Average highs of 35˚C in summer.

If you like palm fringed golden beaches and high temperatures then Candolim is the place for you. It has an eight-kilometre golden beach to relax on with loads of bars, restaurants and water sports. Lots of people visit here to go dolphin watching and you can often spot these amazing creatures leaping out of the water. Nearby, you can go on a fun shopping spree at the local hippie markets and, if you’re feeling really adventurous, go on a 4×4 excursion to explore the Goan jungle. Not only is there loads of tropical wildlife to see, the jungle is a natural aqua land so you can have great fun diving into the rivers.

Stalis, Crete – Average highs of 26˚C in summer.

Check out the sun-drenched resort of Stalis in Crete next year and enjoy beautiful warm weather in summer. Stalis is great for beach lovers. It has over five kilometres of golden sand beaches with clear blue waters for snorkelling and fun-filled water sports activities. This family-friendly holiday resort is only a 15-minute ride away from Crete’s much-loved Acqua Plus waterpark. Cool off with a day trip to the park and let your inner child loose riding all of the 50 water slides.

Sliema, Malta – Average highs of 28˚C in summer.

For long lazy days on the beach and sizzling highs of 28˚C then visit the resort town of Sliema in Malta.  It’s a great family holiday destination and is only a short ride away from the beaches of Golden Bay, Mellieha Bay and Paradise Bay. Its unspoilt beaches are great for chilling out on and there are loads of fun things to see around the island. Dive into St. Peter’s Pool, take a boat trip to the Azure Window or even visit Lascaris War Rooms and watch the cannons blast to the sound of Rule Britannia. Get a taste of the Maltese life and try something new with a holiday to Sliema next year.
