If you like blue flag beaches, ancient history and adrenaline fuelled waterparks; a holiday to Paphos is guaranteed to bring fun, adventure and relaxation. It’s accompanied with scorching sunshine, warm Mediterranean waters, and an average summer temperature of 26°C. There’s plenty to do and see whatever you’re taste, style and preference, read on and discover which are my favourite things to do in Paphos.
27 Beaches for Beach Lovers
That’s right; Paphos has 27 beaches so you’ll be spoilt for choice. As 12 of these have blue flag status you can relax with peace of mind knowing that they are well looked after and are among the best beaches in the world. My favourite is Coral Bay, due to its fun beach activities including watersports and kite surfing.
Exploring For History Lovers
One for the history buffs, the Tomb of the Kings in Paphos dates as far back as 312 BC. The tombs are well preserved and carved out of solid rock while others are decorated with Doric pillars. In ancient Egyptian tradition it was believed that tombs of the dead should resemble houses for the living, one of them even includes two floors.
Splash at the Waterpark
Let the inner child in you loose at the Aphrodite Waterpark and enjoy the thrilling slides. The ‘Free Fall’ and ‘Kamikaze’ are fast and furious to get your adrenaline pumping. For the little ones, there’s plenty to do with fun attractions including the Pirate Ship, Spraying Elephant and the Shooting Water Clown.
Paphos Harbour and Castle
As one of the oldest coastal cities in the world, the castle in Paphos Harbour has seen the rise and fall of many kingdoms during it’s time. It looks like a castle straight out of Game of Thrones, thanks to its excellent preservation and scenic surroundings. After exploring the castle, stroll along the harbour and absorb the surroundings.
