Here are my top five beaches that’ll make you want to jump on the next flight to Goa!
Looking for a fun beach holiday? Why not try something different in 2017? To help you decide, here are my five favourite holiday destinations for a getaway next summer.
Explore Arambol Beach and its bohemian attractions
With 16km of golden beach, you’ll be spoilt for sunbathing spots here. It’s great for the explorer inside of us with its many natural attractions. Check out the traditional fishing village for a taste of local life, or stroll along the sweet water lake to Paliem and bathe in the hot mud springs. The beach also has night parties and its own ‘Glastonbury Street’ making it a favourite with hippies.
Be amazed by the beauty of Mandrem Beach
Its sparkling white sands and calm waters make this beach one of the most beautiful in Goa. It’s a great place to set off on dolphin spotting trips and has excellent swimming and snorkelling spots. During the high tide, the water travels up to Mandrem creek. Sitting here with your feet dipped over the edge of a bamboo bridge is a romantic way to spend an evening with your partner.
Party the night away at Anjuna Beach
Anjuna is one of the most famous of Goa’s beach spots due to its night parties. Dance the night away to the rhythm of the beat and party with the other revellers. If you go in the daytime, you won’t be disappointed with the good eating joints, peaceful shorelines and nearby flea markets.
Enjoy the water sports activities at Calangute Beach
Calangute Beach is the largest in Northern Goa and is known as the Queen of Beaches. It’s not just the hub of tourists, backpackers, flea markets and restaurants that make this a popular spot. The beach has fantastic water sports like water skiing, jet skiing and banana boat rides. Enjoy the adrenaline fuelled activities while getting a great sun tan.
Relax in peace at the beautiful Betul Beach
Betul Beach is a quiet and peaceful beach, which is perfect for lazy days. Aside from the waves lapping gently against the shoreline, there’s no noise or activities, so you can snooze in peace and quiet. There are great scenic views of the surrounding landscapes including a small lagoon, 17th-century fort and the Baradi Cross church. Relax here in the day time and watch the sunset in the evening.
